In today’s video I will be reviewing ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ as a part of my newest series: Book and A Beverage! This series requires that you be VERY thirsty, for both drinks and knowledge! Two things that I’m always after. So for one half of this video, I will be showing you how to make a Nigerian drink called zobo. Zobo is a very popular drink in the African diaspora, and it appears under various names, including sorrel and bissap. No matter what you call it, it’s guaranteed to be deliciously refreshing!
And in the second part of the video, I will be discussing all things ‘Children of Blood and Bone.’ It’s a book that I knew I needed, but I never thought I’d get, but Tomi Adeyemi did the deities’ work by blessing us with this beautiful and enchanting story. If you like fantasy stories and/or copious amounts of #BlackGirlMagic, this will DEFINITELY be the book for you!
The book follows Zélie on her journey to restore magic to all of Orïsha. During her journey, she meets some very unlikely comrades, learns quite a bit about herself, and even falls in love. I can’t express how much I want you to read this book! Plus, when the movie drops, you’ll be SUPER ready! I hope you enjoyed this review, and if you’ve read this book, I’d love to hear ALL about it in the comments!
Thanks for watching today’s video, y’all! ‘Like’ and subscribe if you haven’t already, and I will see y’all in the next one!
I’M ON OTHER PARTS OF THE INTERWEBS TOO!
