How To Get Reviews For Your Amazon Products

In this video, I will how to use Amazon product inserts for reviews – including simple cards in your packages to generate more product reviews on Amazon. Many new sellers struggle with getting positive reviews for their Amazon products – I hope that this video will give you ideas on some ways to solve that problem.
I am often asked by students in my Amazon FBA course, how can I get more reviews for my newly launched products? One idea is product inserts.
Including physical inserts inside the packages for your products can be a very effective way for Amazon sellers to get product reviews. The inserts don’t have to be complicated.
Basically, you want to make sure that you follow Amazon’s rules, remind customers why they bought your product – so you want to highlight the benefits, you want to ask them to leave a review and include instructions for doing so, and you will want to keep the design simple, easy-to-read and brand-consistent.
However, you want to make sure your inserts are compliant with Amazon’s Terms of Service. A few reviews aren’t worth getting your seller account suspended.
You cannot offer a discount or any kind of incentive for a review. This is strictly against Amazon’s rules. And you have to encourage honest reviews – not strictly positive reviews.
Including an insert or card in your product packaging is not against Amazon’s rules. You want to keep the insert or card simple. You definitely want to show your appreciation and thank the customer for their business on the insert or card.
Also list your product’s main benefits – what makes your product unique from the competition? This reminds your customers why your product is awesome, and it gets the customer in a positive frame of mind.This will reduce the chances that they return the product, and increase the chances of the customer leaving a positive review for your product.
The more value customers get out of your product, they more likely they will be to leave a positive review. Including some tips on how to get the most value out of the product can be very effective in an insert or card.
Now, you do want to ask for a review. You can say something like: “Could you please leave us a product review? It helps our small business immensely, and also helps other customers make more informed decisions. Thank you!” or something to that effect.
You should also give instructions on how to leave a review for your product. So you will want to explicitly give the customer the exact steps to do so in a step-by-step manner. You will want to include steps like this:

Hover over Account & Lists
Under Your Account, click on Your Orders
Find this order and click Write a Product Review
Please give an honest review of our product!
Here are some design tips for the insert or card:
Product inserts are usually about the size of business cards, or a bit larger. Make your product cards easy to read. Don’t jam too much information on a small card. Also, put your brand logo on the card.
Some sellers who use inserts or cards will include a web address where the customer can register their product for a warranty. This is a way to collect the customer’s email address. Then later, they contact the customer via email asking for a review. You have to be careful with this because Amazon explicitly prohibits collecting customer emails for your own marketing purposes.
I hope this video gives you some ideas on how to get reviews by using product inserts or cards. I have found it can be an effective way to get reviews while still trying to stay within Amazon’s increasingly restrictive rules for reviews.
