Modern Car Names Are Complete Nonsense

Modern vehicle names are complete nonsense. In the past, automobile names really meant something. They were intended to invoke an image in the mind’s eye. Names like Mustang, Corvette, Javelin, Riviera, and Stealth have actually been all yet replaced by randomly produced password jumbles like OPTIQ, bZ, EQS, EQE, GV70, EX30, and unlimited strings of letters and numbers that appear more like a CAPTCHA photo examination than a vehicle. Yet there’s in fact a reason automakers began doing this, and while standard wisdom would recommend it’s regarding international branding, hallmarks, product hierarchies, and inner classification, there are other factors these names have actually caught on within the automobile industry. In this episode of Fuel For Thought, I’ll give you several of my picks for the dumbest modern-day vehicle names, investigate why calling vehicles has ended up being so complex, and why at the very least one major automaker seems having reservations.
