Product Review: Fitbit Alta HR Fitness Tracker

1 min read

The Alta HR’s band is just over a half an inch thick and is very comfortable.

Unlike the first model, the Alta HR has a standard watchband-style clasp, which feels more secure around your wrist.

The Alta HR is accurate at counting steps. Just be aware that step counts are displayed to the nearest hundred, which means you’ve got to get into the app to see exactly how many steps you’ve taken.

Open the app, to see your step count, and track your exercise, heart rate, sleep stats, estimated calorie burn and more.

View your entire activity history and manage multiple devices, at the same time.

At $149 Fitbit Alta HR is a sensible update to the original Alta, with heart rate monitoring and improved sleep tracking.

However, if you don’t mind a slightly thicker, but just as attractive, device, consider the Charge 2, which is easier to use and won’t have you reaching for your phone as often.
