Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport – A Real Day In The Life + Review!
4 min readHi, everyone, today we’’re switching things up a little and show a day in the life using the Sennheiser Momentum SPORT Wireless Earbuds. I’ve been using these throughout the week in Seoul for pretty much both exercise and leisure situations. In this video, I’ll be giving personal feedback throughout using them in daily situations and also talk about the pro’s and cons. So, without further a do, let’s get started.
I started off the morning early with a brisk jog in the nearby park. Since it’s now cherry blossom season in Seoul, Korea the running path and streets have become adorned in pink blossoms making for a relaxing, and serene scenery. With a tap of a button in the SmartControl App, I’m able to switch the listening mode to “wind-reduction” making it easy to listen to my music on my run. With the SPORT model, Sennheiser has now partnered with Polar, a wearable fitness and sports tracking company. You are able to monitor your heart rate and body temperature when the earbuds are in use. Of course, you get the same touch gesture controls as other earbuds in the Momentum line.
After my run, I hit up a local coffee shop in the neighborhood while listening to my favorite podcasts. The sound quality of the Momentum Sport’s straight from the factory is clear, with a nice crisp midrange, but for those who prefer more low-end, you can turn on SPORT MODE using the SmartControl App. This will give you a more bass-heavy and upbeat sound.
After my morning routine, I head over to get lunch in Samcheong-dong, a popular destination in Seoul where you can find a blend of beautiful traditional Korean houses, shops, and modern architecture. I meet up with my friend and we get lunch in a local shop that specializes in spicy Korean ramen. Yeah, I think it was a bit too spicy for me, but overall a great local experience. After lunch, I take a stroll in the neighborhood and get an affogato at Blue Bottle coffee. With ANC turned on the Momentum Sport, the earbuds are able to automatically adjust the level of noise cancellation depending on the environment you’re in.
After a quick dessert, I head over to MMCA museum, or the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art
where I take some photographs of the architecture and interior. This is one of my favorite museums in Seoul, as the space is expansive, with a central green courtyard. There’s always interesting up and coming work from Korea’s best and brightest artists – and today was a great day to go – usually this place gets pretty crowded but today was nearly empty.
Now where to next? I’m feeling a bike ride at the Han River. This was actually my first time doing this, and I found it to be so relaxing and enjoyable. Again, using the Momentum Sport, I had wind reduction turned on – I was able to hear my audio very clearly, with a surprising rich detail in the vocals. The earbuds felt snug and secure in my ears, without flinching during bumps in the bike path.
For dinner, I head over to Itaewon and enjoy Thai food at Buddha’s Belly. This was also recommended by many, and it did not disappoint. It tasted very authentic, while not being too overpowering in flavor. While waiting for my friend to come join me, I used the SPORT earbuds to listen to yet another podcast.
One thing I really appreciate about these earbuds and the case, is how lightweight it is. There were moments throughout the day where I forgot I even had them in my ear. The earbud case is made of a soft matte rubberized material with a small lanyard. The earbuds are shock, water, and dust resistant with an IP55 rated water resistance. Personally, I had no issues taking it everywhere indoors and outdoors.
I end the day off checking out the night scene in the neighboring streets of Itaewon before heading home.
So there it is – after a jam-packed day using the Sennheiesr Momentum Sport earbuds in a variety of situations, I end the day off with still 70% of battery life left which I can just recharge using the case. The case provides a total of 3 extra charge cycles.
In conclusion, using these throughout the day and week could be summed up in one word – seamless. The comfort of the earbuds were excellent during my workouts, casual strolls, and the usual routines of day to day life. With a lightweight all-in-one package, the Sennheiser Momentum SPORT’s are easy to take around anywhere – and combined with the SmartControl App, you’re able to access different sound profiles, track heart rate and body temperature. I think Sennheiser really knocked it out of the park with these – There was no friction in using them, and no notable bugs or glitches that interrupted my use.
